Mommy’s Kitchen has an awesome tip that solves the issue with overnight recipes that don't require 6-8 hours to cook... I mean, who wants to wake up to bunt oatmeal, right? And then getting that crud off the crock when you clean it.... no thank you!
What Mommy's kitchen recommends is to turn your crock into a double boiler by filling the crock partially with water, then add your ingredients into a bowl, which you can set in the water. This allows your stuff to cook perfectly and slows the cooking down slightly too!
