Bone Broth





This is extremely popular right now. Bone Broth.  This is a great way to re-use the bones from the meat you had last night.  You can do this by asking your butcher for bones, or by using the bones from your Rotisserie chicken.


Bone Broth

Portions: Free
Servings: Varies based on the water and bones used

Bones
1/2 Med. Onion - Chopped in quarters
2 Med. Carrots - Cut in chunks
2 Med. Celery stalks - Cut in chunks
4 cloves of Garlic smashed
1 Tsp Thyme
1 Tsp Parsley
1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar (pour over the bones)
1 tsp Pepper
1 tsp Salt
2 Bay Leaves
This will be strained out in the end, we just want them to fit into the crockpot

Place all ingredients in your crockpot
Cover with enough water to cover the bones.
Cook on high a minimum of 6 hours, and as long as you'd like (recommended 8-10 hours)




Before serving:
Strain broth, so that none of the onions and carrots etc. are in it. You can eat these separately.

To chill your broth rapidly, you want to chill your broth quickly.
So set a large bowl inside of a bowl that has Ice in it.

Chill the bone broth and enjoy it.
